FY25 Local Cultural Council grant applications open 

Grants to be used for local arts, culture and humanities projects in the Second Essex District 

(BOSTON—9/16/2024) Senate Assistant Majority Leader Joan B. Lovely (D–Salem) announces the opening of FY25 Local Cultural Council grant applications across several communities in the Second Essex District. These grants, supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, provide vital funding for projects that enhance local arts, culture, and humanities. 

“These grant opportunities are essential for fostering creativity and cultural engagement in the district,” said Senator Lovely. “I encourage local artists and organizations to apply for these grants and take advantage of the opportunity to share their projects with our communities.” 

The Beverly Cultural Council is offering $24,600 in available funding for cultural projects. Awards range from $250 to $1,500. Beverly residents are encouraged to apply, with priority given to local artists and organizations. 

The Danvers Cultural Council has $13,700 available for projects supporting building connections, encouraging inclusion, and community healing. Applicants are encouraged to attend the Cultural Council meeting at the Danvers Senior Center on November 6th and 13th at 6:00 p.m. Priority will be given to projects with the greatest community impact. 

The Peabody Cultural Council has $32,600 in grant funding is available to support public arts and cultural initiatives that engage the community. Applications are open to local individuals and organizations with projects that benefit the residents of Peabody and enrich the cultural wellbeing of the community, with priority given to the first two submissions this cycle.  

The Salem Cultural Council will distribute $30,700 for projects that highlight Salem’s diverse history and culture from individuals that reside, work, or have an organization based in Salem.  

“These projects provide local individuals and organizations the opportunity to enrich lives and bring vibrancy and pride to our communities,” said Senator Lovely. ”I am excited to see how the awarded grants will be used to further enhance our local cultural landscape.”
